ABOUT

THE PEOPLE

Hi! We're Thom and Ashlae, the husband/wife team behind Alchemy Food Co. - a whole food edibles company based in the Mile High City - and the founders of SUPERGOOD.

After three years in Colorado's cannabis industry, we've learned a thing or two about the heavily regulated part of the cannabis space. So we decided to take all that knowledge and bring it over to the non-intoxicating side of the industry. Why? Because we saw the need for high quality hemp products in a market that's saturated with offerings sold by people who have little or no experience with cannabis.

We hold our hemp products to the same high standards as our products produced on the intoxicating side of the industry, and we wholeheartedly believe that's one of the things that sets SUPERGOOD apart from the rest.

THE HEMP

The hemp is grown outdoors in Colorado using organic practices. Once harvested, our extractors take the flowers (not the seeds or stems) (contrary to popular belief you cannot extract cannabinoids from either of those things unless you're processing the hell out of them) and process them using food grade ethanol (grain alcohol). Compared to C02 and hydrocarbon extraction, ethanol extraction is much more gentle on the plant and - because of that - we think it's superior to all other extraction methods. Even better? Ethanol also extracts the terpenes, flavonoids, vitamins, and minerals - meaning there's so much more to our full spectrum products than just CBD (CBD is great, but there are a lot of other beneficial compounds in cannabis, too).

The extracts are analyzed at third party test facilities for their cannabinoid profile as well as pesticides, volatile organic compounds, heavy metals, mycotoxin, and bacterial/microbiological contaminants. We contact the test lab to verify COAs before we purchase any extracts to use in our products.

THE OTHER INGREDIENTS

You know, like the turmeric and the black pepper and the MCT oil.

We source USDA certified organic ingredients wherever we can. Not necessarily because we think they're better for you or your health (the debate is still out on that), but because organic agriculture is much more gentle on the planet (can you tell we've got a thing for being gentle?).

Currently, our USDA certified organic ingredients are:

MCT oil, black pepper, cinnamon, ginger, and vanilla bean.

We are 100% committed to using the highest quality ingredients we can get our hands on and we only purchase our ingredients through trusted suppliers.

As of April 2019, our GOLDEN products are formulated using Diaspora Co. turmeric. Diaspora's turmeric is organically farmed on a fourth generation, family owned farm in India and is of the heirloom variety. What's more? The farmers are paid up to 6x the standard commodity price for turmeric. 6X. The decision to move from certified USDA organic turmeric to this stuff was easy.

*All of our products are made by hand (by us!), in small batches. We do not use co-packers. Making our products in house allows us to guarantee quality and consistency.

THE TESTING

Once our products are formulated, they go to a third party lab for testing to ensure 1) they are safe for consumption and 2) the potency we're advertising is within an acceptable variance. As of April 2019, all of our products are tested at Bontanacor Laboratories here in Denver, CO.

Due to the lack of testing requirements on the hemp side of the cannabis industry, we adhere to many of the testing standards put forth in Colorado's retail cannabis rules (rules with which we are very familiar given the other company we own). This is not something we are required to do but something we think is of utmost importance given the loose regulations surrounding testing on hemp products. At the end of the day, these rules exist for a reason: to protect you.
